Job summary

Sanmina Fermoy, located in Fermoy, Ireland, seeks a Test Engineer to join the Engineering department. You will maintain test fixtures and equipment, perform fault finding, and support new product introductions within a product-focused team.

Training of junior staff and downtime/root-cause logging are part of the role. The successful candidate will have a NFQ Level 6 Diploma in Engineering or equivalent, 2–3 years of relevant experience, strong communication, and the ability to work shifts.

Qualifications

• NFQ Level 6 Diploma Certification in Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2/3 years experience in a similar environment.
• Good communication and influencing skills.
• Ability to work under own initiative.
• Availability to work shift patterns.
• Computer literate.
• Desirable: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; Knowledge of high level/database programming language; Previous experience in test eng/test debug environment.

Responsibilities

• Updating records of completed maintenance, software backups and ordering of some spare parts.
• Fault finding of test equipment.
• New product introduction.
• Working as part of a product focused team.
• Training of debug technicians.
• Carrying out preventative maintenance on ICT/Functional Test Equipment.
• Completion of downtime and maintenance logs and the root cause analysis of repeat issues causing downtime.
