Job summary

Sanmina Fermoy is recruiting a Maintenance Engineer to support test fixtures, systems and equipment under direction of test engineers and shift leaders. The role involves fault finding, updating maintenance records, and contributing to New Product Introductions in a busy EMS facility in Fermoy, Ireland.

The ideal candidate has an NFQ Level 6 Diploma in Engineering, 2–3 years' experience, and good communication skills. Pension, flexitime, and wellness programs are offered.

Qualifications

• NFQ Level 6 Diploma in Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 2–3 years experience in a similar manufacturing/test environment.
• Good communication and influencing skills.
• Ability to work on own initiative and adapt to shift patterns.
• Desirable familiarity with Microsoft Office and test/debug processes.

Responsibilities

• Updating records of maintenance, backups and spare parts ordering.
• Fault finding of test equipment and supporting test engineers.
• New product introduction support.
• Working as part of a product-focused team.
• Training of debug technicians.
• Carrying out preventative maintenance on ICT/Functional Test Equipment.
• Completing downtime logs and root-cause analysis of repeat issues.

OBJECTIVES OF POSITION:

• Maintenance of test fixtures, systems and equipment on the direction of the test engineers, shift leaders and customers

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Updating records of completed maintenance, software backups and ordering of some spare parts
• Fault finding of test equipment
• New product introduction
• Working as part of a product focused team
• Training of debug technicians
• Carrying out preventative maintenance on ICT/Functional Test Equipment
• Completion of downtime and maintenance logs and the root cause analysis of repeat issues causing downtime.

PERSONNEL SPECIFICATIONS

ESSENTIAL:

• NFQ Level 6 Diploma Certification in Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum of 2/3 years experience in a similar environment
• Good communication and influencing skills
• Ability to work under own initiative
• Availability to work shift patterns

DESIRABLE:

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of high level/database programming language
• Previous experience in test eng/test debug environment
