Job summary

Howdens is seeking a Business Developer to grow local depot business. You’ll engage trade customers face-to-face and on the phone, build relationships and spot opportunities to increase spend by understanding customers’ needs and projects.

You’ll support sales activity by generating leads, arranging appointments, and keeping the pipeline moving, working with Kitchen Sales Designers and Territory Sales Representatives to convert conversations into sales.

Qualifications

• Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
• 2+ years in sales or account management is helpful.
• Comfortable speaking to customers face-to-face and on the phone.

Responsibilities

• Calling existing trade customers to build long term relationships and grow future business.
• Using customer data to spot inactivity and bring accounts back on track.
• Managing a targeted customer list and achieving daily call activity levels.
• Keeping up to date with customer projects to identify opportunities to add value and drive repeat business.
• Arranging surveys and appointments for Kitchen Sales Designers.
• Promoting products, offers and events to keep customers engaged.
• Supporting administration, including invoicing and general depot tasks.
• Working closely with the wider team to help the depot hit its targets and deliver great service.
