Job summary

Autism A Chara Gorey is seeking a Team Leader (15 hours/week) or Senior Social Care Worker (24 hours/week) on a Specific Purpose contract in Gorey, Co. Wexford. Salary starts from €26.85 and €23.58 per hour respectively, with enhanced rates for evenings and weekends.

The role requires a degree in Social Care/Studies or equivalent, CORU registration or ongoing application, and the ability to work a rota including nights. A full Irish driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• A full degree in Social Care/Studies or a relevant 3rd level qualification is essential.
• CORU registration as a Social Care Worker or active application in progress.
• Permission to work in Ireland is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of employees within a social care setting.
• Implement and develop support/care plans and PCPs.
• Coordinate shifts including evenings, weekends, and waking night duty.
• Drive service vehicles as required.

• Proven experience in the implementation and development of support/care plans and PCP’s
• Availability to work shifts on a rota basis including evenings and weekends and waking night duty shifts
• Full, clean Irish drivers licence essential with requirement to drive service vehicles
• Permission to work in Ireland essential

Qualifications required:

• A full Degree in Social Care/ Studies Or Relevant 3rd Level Qualification at degree level i.e.; Social Work, Psychology is essential, (or relevant qualification received outside the state recognised by NARIC equivalent to Irish level 8)
• Proof of successful registration with CORU as a Social Care Worker
• OR proof of application in progress with CORU.

Skills/Abilities Required Of a Team Leader

• Two years Management experience with responsibility for a team of employees.
• Proven knowledge of current legislation and regulations relating to the Social Care Sector
• Understanding of the needs and rights of individuals with autism
• Proven ability to work on own initiative
• Ability to work alone in coordinating and managing developing services.
• Proven experience in the implementation and development of support/care plans and PCP’s
• Places the needs of the person supported as the key focus in all activities
• Delivers support according to the person’s PCP and care plan
• Fluent English and excellent communication skills
• Full driver’s licence essential with requirement to drive service vehicles
