Job summary

Arup in Ireland (Dublin and Cork) is offering a Building Services Work Placement for students in engineering. You will work with senior engineers on real projects, contribute to decarbonisation efforts and gain hands-on experience across building services disciplines.

You will prepare analyses, develop 3D Revit MEP models and participate in design meetings, with access to learning sessions and international project exposure. This role supports flexible learning and growth within a global firm.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Building Services, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with an interest in sustainable design.
• Keen to gain real professional experience and apply studies in practice.
• Growth mindset and enthusiasm for learning and development.

Responsibilities

• Work with experienced Building Services engineers on design and consulting work.
• Contribute to decarbonisation strategies for buildings and energy technologies.
• Analyze new technologies for sustainable and robust designs.
• Assist in designing building service systems (ventilation, heating/cooling, electrical, lighting, fire safety).
• Produce technical reports and develop 3D models using Revit MEP.
• Coordinate with architects, fire engineers and other disciplines in design meetings.
• Participate in site visits, workshops and project meetings to gain exposure.
