Job summary

Muiríosa Foundation is seeking a motivated Support Worker to assist individuals with intellectual disabilities in living a valued life through person-centred approaches. You will help individuals connect with their community, develop meaningful relationships and support their personal goals in line with individual preferences.

The role requires initiative, creativity, willingness to work varied rosters including sleepovers, and a valid manual driving licence in Ireland.

Qualifications

• FETAC/ QQI Level 5 (Major Award) in Healthcare or equivalent (e.g. Health Service Skills, Healthcare Support) or willingness to undertake a relevant QQI Level 5 Major Award.
• Ability to use own initiative and plan effectively.
• Experience/knowledge of supporting persons with a range of support needs.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals to realise their vision for a good life using person-centred approaches.
• Lead initiatives to help individuals participate in their local community and form authentic relationships.
• Be flexible to roster shifts across various houses/locations and be willing to sleep over when required.
