Job summary

Enable Ireland is seeking a motivated Support Worker to join Adult Respite Services in Ard Na Mara, Ladybridge, Ballyhimkin, Cork. The role is part-time/variable hours with permanent, temporary, or relief contracts.

Salary ranges from €35,070 to €42,440 pro rata per annum, with increases anticipated in 2026. The post includes 30 days annual pro rata leave and opportunities for excellent internal/external training, pension, and flexible working arrangements.

Qualifications

• QQI Level 5 Major Award in Healthcare Support/Social Care/Disability Care Skills/Childcare
• SNA Qualification or commitment to complete remainder within 12 months
• Year 1 of health and social care degree or related field (e.g. Social Care, Nursing)
• Full clean manual driving licence and willingness to drive company vehicles

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred services to children and adults with disabilities.
• Work as part of a dedicated team in Enable Ireland services.
• Support with daily living activities and participate in activity-based programmes.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Support Worker to join our team in Adult Respite Services, Ard Na Mara,Ladybridge, Ballyhimkin, Cork.

Contract Type: Permanent, Temporary, Relief

Contract Hours: Part-time and Variable hours

Salary Scale: €35,070 to 42,440 pro rata per annum.

This pay scale is subject to increases in 2026 in accordance with the recent WRC agreement towards enhanced pay adjustments in Section 39 organisations.

Annual Leave Entitlement: 30 days per annum pro-rata and proportionately less for less than 12 months service.

Overview of the Post:

The role of Support worker is to work as part of a dedicated and innovative team to provide person centred services to children and adults with disabilities who attend Enable Ireland Services.

Essential Criteria:

• QQI Level 5 Major Award (8 modules) in one of the following:
  • Healthcare Support
  • Social Care
  • Pre Nursing
  • Disability Care Skills
  • Childcare
• Health related area (Individuals with 3 modules completed will be eligible to apply once written commitment given to complete the remainder of the Major Award within 12 months of start date.)
• SNA Qualification
• Year 1 of a relevant degree programme in Health and Social Care (such as Social Care, Child Care, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech & Language Therapy)
• Full Clean Manual Driving Licence and willingness to drive company vehicles.
• Be eligible to work in the state

Desirable Criteria:

• Experience of supporting people with disabilities.
• Experience of working with people with behaviours of concern.
• Experience of providing personal care
• Basic IT skills
