Job summary

Enable Ireland Nenagh is seeking a highly motivated Adult Support Worker to join our team across Nenagh Adult Services. You will provide personalised supports, assist with personal care and mobility, and help clients access community resources and our virtual day service.

The role emphasizes promoting training, employment and inclusion. A QQI Level 5 in Care skills and at least 1 year with adults with disabilities are required, along with a full clean driver’s licence and eligibility to work in

Qualifications

  • QQI Level 5 in Care skills (8 modules) or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year experience with adults with disabilities.
  • Full clean driver’s licence and willingness to drive Enable Ireland vehicles.
  • Eligible to work in the state.
  • Effective communication and recording practices.
  • Knowledge of social model of disability.
  • Good understanding of Adult Protection and Lone working.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a team within the adult day service and the service owner's home to provide personalised supports.
  • Assist with personal care, mobility and access to community services and our virtual day service.
  • Encourage opportunities for training, employment and greater inclusion in local communities.

We are currently seeking a highly-motivated Adult Support Worker to join our team in Nenagh Adult Services, Nenagh, Co Tipperary

Contract Type: Full Time Permanent Contract

Contract Hours: 39 Hours per week

Salary Scale: €35,070 - €42,440 pro rata per annum. Salary scales are subject to LSI’s (Long Service Increments)

This pay scale is subject to increases in 2026 in accordance with the recent WRC agreement towards enhanced pay adjustments in Section 39 organisations.

Annual Leave Entitlement: 30 Days per annum pro rata

Overview of the Post:

The role of the Adult Support Worker is to work as part of a team within the adult day service and the service owners own home, providing personalised supports. This will include assisting to personal care needs, mobility, and supporting access to services in their community and on our virtual day service. The post holder will encourage and support opportunities to help develop a range of options for service owners in areas of training, employment and greater inclusion in their local communities.

The successful candidate will have

  • QQI Level 5 in Care skills to include a module on special needs (total 8 modules) or Equivalent Qualification
  • Minimum of one years’ experience working with adults with disabilities
  • To hold a full clean drivers licence with no restrictions and be willing to drive Enable Ireland vehicles
  • Must be eligible to work in the state
  • Effective communication skills and good recording practices
  • Knowledge of social model of disability.
  • Good understanding of Adult Protection and Lone working.
Desirable Criteria
  • Experience of working with adults in a day service setting.
  • Experience of working in community setting.
  • Knowledge of person centred planning and Key Worker system
  • Knowledge of New Directions guidelines
