Job summary

Enable Ireland is seeking a part-time Social Care Worker in Arklow for an adult day service. The role involves supporting adults with disabilities to participate in daily activities within a quality framework, in accordance with individual needs and preferences.

The successful candidate will work as part of a dedicated team, with responsibilities including personal care support and engaging individuals in meaningful daytime activities.

Qualifications

  • Statutory Registration with CORU is required.
  • Schedule 3 qualification is required.
  • Annual Registration must be maintained on the CORU Social Care Workers Register.

Social Care Worker - Part-Time (Arklow, Wicklow (CHO6))

Contract Type: Permanent Post

Contract Hours: Part time hours considered up to a maximum of 30 per week.

Salary Scale: €39,160– €54,746 pro rata per annum. Salary scales are subject to LSI's (Long Service Increments)

This pay scale is subject to increases in 2026 in accordance with the recent WRC agreement towards enhanced pay adjustments in Section 39 organisations.

Annual Leave Entitlement: 31 days pro rata per annum and proportionately less for less than 12 months service.

Overview of the Post

To work as part of a dedicated and innovative team in an Adult Day Service working with adults with physical and/or sensory or mild to moderate intellectual disabilities, within a quality framework. The post holder will support the individuals accessing the service with all aspects of their daily lives in accordance with their individual needs and preferences.

The successful candidate will have:
Essential Criteria
  • Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc.
  • Hold a professional registration on the Social Care Workers Register maintained by the Social Care Workers Registration Board at CORU.
  • AND
  • Have a Schedule 3 qualification.
  • OR
  • Have a comparable qualification recognised by Social Care Workers Registration Board.
  • AND
  • Candidates must have the knowledge, skills, and suitability required to perform the role effectively.
  • Annual Registration
  • On appointment, practitioners must maintain annual registration on the Social Care Workers Register maintained by the Social Care Workers Registration Board at CORU.
  • Additional Criteria:
  • Experience in contributing to the development of personal plans.
  • Experience and knowledge of the role of a key worker.
  • Experience of delivering personal care.
  • Experience of assisting adults with medical needs/ administering medication.
  • Experience of engaging in professional supervision.
  • Possess a full, clean, manual driving licence.
  • Eligible to work in the State
Desirable Criteria
  • Experience of working with adults and families with physical/sensory /intellectual disabilities.
  • Minimum of 1 year post qualification experience relevant to the role.
