Job summary

Stryker Group in Limerick is offering a paid placement as part of the 2027 Cooperative cohort. You will be based at our Limerick site, collaborating with a team to drive supply chain projects and supplier strategies.

The role emphasizes hands-on learning, cross-functional collaboration, and exposure to contract sourcing, cost management, and new product launches. Duration options include six, nine, or twelve months, with mentors guiding your development.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an Irish or Northern Irish university course in Supply Chain, Operations, BIS or related.
• Honesty and integrity; must comply with quality system, regulations, and company policies.
• Self-motivated, flexible, and hardworking in a dynamic, fast, results-oriented environment.
• Reliable, dependable, and punctual.
• Organised, focused, and capable of multi-tasking.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills with basic PC skills.

• Available for 6, 9 or 12 months – duration and start date discussed with Talent Acquisition.

Responsibilities

• Identify a Supply Planning project with objectives, scope, milestones and evaluation.
• Support cross functional teams to develop best in class sourcing strategies.
• Support supplier/commodity strategy including spend and make v's buy analyses.
• Represent the voice of the supplier in the organization.
• Collaborate on contract strategy for suppliers; create, negotiate, monitor and enforce when applicable.
• Develop strong relationships with key suppliers and other disciplines.
• Participate in new product launches; lead supplier selection and RFQs; ensure clear launch deliverables.
• Responsible for assuring cost standards are established for annual operating budgets.
• Ensure compliance with Quality, Safety and 5S Systems.

Job description

This role will be based in our Limerick site.

Throughout the placement, you will be an integral part of Stryker’s 2027 Cooperative cohort.

Tasks and responsibilities may include:

• Together, with your Stryker team leader and college supervisor, identify a Supply Planning project along with project objectives, scope, success factors, milestones and evaluation.

• Supporting cross functional teams to develop best in class sourcing strategies for assigned suppliers and/or commodities in support of business objectives.

• Supporting the implementation of supplier and/or commodity strategy which will include spend/supply assessments, consolidation strategy, sourcing selection, financial and make v’s buy analyses.

• Represent the ‘voice of the supplier’ in the organization.

• Collaborate with key stakeholders on contract strategy for suppliers and create, negotiate, monitor and enforce when applicable.

• Develop strong relationships with key suppliers as well as other disciplines within the businesses.

• Participate in new product launches; lead supplier selection, requests for quotes and insurance that suppliers are clear on product launch deliverables; collaborate with cross-functional teams for successful launch.

• Responsible for assuring cost standards are established for annual operating budgets.

• Ensures compliance with the Quality, Safety and 5S Systems.
