Job summary

Stryker Group in Cork, Ireland is offering a placement within its 2027 Cooperative cohort. You will work with a team to identify a Supply Planning project, define milestones and evaluate success, while supporting cross-functional teams to craft sourcing strategies for key suppliers and commodities.

You will help implement supplier strategies, conduct spend and make/buy analyses, and represent the voice of the supplier across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in an Irish or Northern Irish university course in Supply Chain, Operations, BIS or related fields.
  • Honesty and integrity; comply with quality systems and policies.
  • Self-motivated, flexible and hardworking in a dynamic environment.
  • Reliable, punctual and able to multi-task.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication; basic PC skills.
  • Team player able to work in a multi-disciplined team.
  • Available for 6, 9 or 12 months; duration discussed with Talent Acquisition.

Responsibilities

  • Identify a Supply Planning project with objectives, scope, milestones and evaluation.
  • Support cross-functional teams to develop best-in-class sourcing strategies.
  • Support supplier strategy including spend, consolidation and make vs buy analyses.
  • Represent the voice of the supplier in the organization.
  • Collaborate on contract strategy for suppliers; create, negotiate, monitor and enforce when applicable.
  • Develop strong relationships with key suppliers and other disciplines.
  • Participate in new product launches; lead supplier selection and RFQ processes.
  • Ensure cost standards are established for annual operating budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with Quality, Safety and 5S Systems.

Job description

This role will be based in one of our Cork sites.

Throughout the placement, you will be an integral part of Stryker’s 2027 Cooperative cohort.

Tasks and responsibilities may include:

  • Together, with your Stryker team leader and college supervisor, identify a Supply Planning project along with project objectives, scope, success factors, milestones and evaluation.

  • Supporting cross functional teams to develop best in class sourcing strategies for assigned suppliers and/or commodities in support of business objectives.

  • Supporting the implementation of supplier and/or commodity strategy which will include spend/supply assessments, consolidation strategy, sourcing selection, financial and make v’s buy analyses.

  • Represent the ‘voice of the supplier’ in the organization.

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders on contract strategy for suppliers and create, negotiate, monitor and enforce when applicable.

  • Develop strong relationships with key suppliers as well as other disciplines within the businesses.

  • Participate in new product launches; lead supplier selection, requests for quotes and insurance that suppliers are clear on product launch deliverables; collaborate with cross-functional teams for successful launch.

  • Responsible for assuring cost standards are established for annual operating budgets.

  • Ensures compliance with the Quality, Safety and 5S Systems.

What you will need:
  • Enrolled in an Irish or Northern Irish university course in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, BIS or other related courses for the duration of the placement.

  • Honesty and integrity; must comply with the quality system, regulations, and company policies.

  • Self-motivated, flexible, and hardworking - enjoys working in a dynamic, fast and results orientated environment.

  • Reliable, dependable, and punctual.

  • Organised, focused, and capable of multi-tasking.

  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills with basic level of PC skills.

  • Is a team player and capable of working as part of a multi-disciplined team.

  • Available for either 6, 9 or 12 months – exact duration and start date to be discussed with your Talent Acquisition Business Partner at Stryker.
