Job summary

ESB Networks invites applications for a Resident Engineer to oversee construction of sub-station projects across Ireland. You will ensure safety, quality and environmental compliance while delivering on time and within budget, coordinating with design engineers and contractors.

Based in Dublin with travel across Ireland, the role supports Smart Working and hybrid attendance, combining home and site presence to deliver high standards and strong stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Minimum seven years post-graduate experience in civil/structural engineering or equivalent.
• Understanding of scoping, planning, design and construction phases of projects.
• Delivery-focused with commercial awareness and risk management.
• Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to write reports and manage multiple priorities with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and supervise on-site civil works contractors for sub-station projects.
• Ensure health, safety and environmental compliance and ESB requirements.
• Coordinate with Networks projects, design engineers and stakeholders.
• Conduct QA documentation and Site Inspection Test Plan reviews and audits.
• Resolve on-site issues promptly with the project team.
• Maintain daily logs, inspections and incident reports.
