Strategic Procurement Manager – Renewable Energy Projects

Job summary

Elgin is seeking a Procurement Manager to lead procurement activity across renewable energy projects, from development through to delivery, including tenders, contract negotiations and supplier engagement. Based in Dublin or London, the role collaborates with internal teams to ensure robust procurement decisions aligned with governance and project programmes.

The role covers solar PV, BESS and grid connection workstreams, with emphasis on bankable contracts, risk allocation and timely execution.

Qualifications

• Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Energy, Construction, Supply Chain, or related discipline.
• Significant experience in procurement, supply chain or commercial management within renewable energy IPP, energy, infrastructure or similar capital projects.
• Experience procuring full-wrap turnkey construction services and/or major equipment for utility-scale renewable energy or grid infrastructure.
• Experience leading competitive tenders and negotiating complex, high-value EPC, ICP, construction and equipment supply agreements.
• Strong understanding of renewable energy contract structures, project delivery interfaces, supply chain dynamics and key commercial risk areas.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and negotiation skills, with the confidence to work across disciplines and engage senior internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement planning and contracting strategies for assigned projects, aligning with objectives and governance.
• Manage end-to-end tender processes for EPC, ICP, BESS supply and related services, including market engagement and evaluation.
• Coordinate input from Engineering, Construction, Development, Commercial, Legal and Finance for timely decisions.
• Lead negotiations of complex EPC, ICP and equipment supply agreements with focus on bankability and risk allocation.
• Produce procurement status reports, tender recommendations and decision papers for teams and executives.
• Maintain strategic relationships with tier-1 contractors through commercial updates and workshops.
