Dawn Meats in Waterford is seeking a Strategic Procurement Category Buyer to join our Group Procurement team based at our head office in Waterford.

The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the team through best-in-class procurement practices and by adhering to best practice procedures, delivering a quality service, and maximising value for money and cost efficiencies on behalf of the Group.

Qualifications

• Detail-oriented with ability to cleanse high-volume data.
• Ability to evaluate unstructured information and hypothesize solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication with stakeholders.
• Lead by example and develop other team members.
• Focus on continuous improvement and problem solving.
• Plan, schedule and organise priority tasks.

Responsibilities

• Support the Strategic Group Procurement Manager and Group Procurement Head of Finance in leading Categories for sites in Ireland and the UK.
• Promote best procurement practices across the Group.
• Development sourcing and risk mitigation strategies.
• Research, sourcing and prequalifying new suppliers to introduce contingencies.
• Researching, analysing and surfacing new potential projects.
• Preparing tender suite documentation & analysing responses.
• Negotiating prices with suppliers and managing supplier relationships.
• Project Deployment, Managing Change and Contract reviews.
• Preparing reports for Senior Managers & Executives.
