Job summary

Dawn Meats Group in Grannagh, Waterford seeks a Strategic Procurement Category Buyer for Services to join the Group Procurement team. You will drive best-in-class procurement practices, deliver value for money, and manage supplier relationships to ensure quality service.

Qualifications

• Assist in monitoring category performance and cost efficiencies.

Role Summary: We wish to recruit a Strategic Procurement Category Buyer to join our Group Procurement team based at our head office in Waterford. The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the team through best-in-class procurement practices and by adhering to best practice procedures, delivering a quality service, and maximising value for money and cost efficiencies on behalf of the Group. You will have responsibility for the procurement of Services and depending on business requirements, the successful candidate may also support categories such as Production Critical Equipment and Consumables, Primary & Retail Packaging, Ingredients, and other Compliance & Legislative-driven categories. The successful candidate will be based at our Group Offices in Grannagh, Waterford and in conjunction with the wider team will support; The Strategic Group Procurement Manager & Group Procurement Head of Finance when leading Categories on behalf of the sites in both Ireland and the UK; The Cross-functional regional managers with their project objectives;

Responsibilities

Qualifications

• The ability both written and verbal to clearly communicate to the relevant stakeholders;

• The ability to focus on continuous improvement and implementation of problem-solving techniques;
• The ability to implement good follow-up and control in all aspects of the role;
• The ability to plan, schedule and organise priority tasks as necessary;
• Some Supply Chain knowledge;
• Some Project Management knowledge.
• Experience: IT proficient to an advanced standard in Microsoft Office and in particular Microsoft Excel;
• Relevant 3rd level qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain or Business is desirable.
