Job summary

Brightwater Recruitment in Ireland is seeking a Senior Commercial Executive to join its Commercial division.

You will own a portfolio of high-value commercial clients, lead renewal and retention strategies, actively win new business, while mentoring junior colleagues and shaping best practice across the function.

Responsibilities include managing client risk, negotiating terms with insurers and ensuring regulatory compliance to support sustainable growth.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in commercial insurance broking or underwriting.
• Strong technical knowledge of Irish commercial insurance market.
• Proven track record in client retention, portfolio growth and new business.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to persuade insurers.
• Mentoring experience preferred; supports team development.

Responsibilities

• Build lasting partnerships with key commercial clients.
• Own a portfolio end to end including renewal and retention.
• Lead renewal processes for complex risks and negotiate terms.
• Pursue and convert new business to hit revenue targets.
• Analyse client risk profiles and tailor insurance solutions.
• Leverage insurer relationships for competitive terms.
• Maintain regulatory compliance and audit-ready records.
• Mentor junior colleagues and support team development.
• Advise leadership on market conditions and product trends.
• Lead meetings, strategic reviews and prospect pitches.
