Job summary

EPAM Systems seeks an Applied AI Director who combines strategic thinking with entrepreneurial execution. This hands-on leadership role focuses on driving commercial growth, delivering AI-powered solutions, and building world-class teams across the enterprise.

The position offers hybrid work with international flexibility and occasional office visits. You will shape AI strategies, lead multi-disciplinary teams, and mentor professionals while expanding the Applied AI practice and market

Qualifications

• 5+ years' domain experience in one of Banking/FS/Insurance/Healthcare/Life Sciences/Energy/Utilities with business impact
• Deep industry expertise with understanding of drivers, regulatory environments, unit economics and competition
• Hands-on expertise in generative AI and agentic systems, incl. LLMs and hyperscaler ecosystems
• Proven experience deploying AI solutions into production and delivering value
• Executive stakeholder management with senior leaders to drive AI adoption and change
• Commercial acumen across revenue, margin, utilization and engagements
• Transformation leadership mindset focused on value creation via applied AI
• Strong view on agentic AI’s role in industry and where human judgment matters
• Experience in AI governance, responsible AI or cost modeling in at least one specialty area

Responsibilities

• Act as trusted advisor to C-suite and board on agentic transformation
• Define and drive AI strategies using practical generative AI knowledge
• Transform complex business challenges into prioritized AI opportunities with value path
• Drive enterprise AI adoption by identifying high-impact use cases and quantifying value
• Lead cross-functional teams from concept through production and adoption
• Grow EPAM's Applied AI practice through talent development and market positioning
• Shape engagements, build business cases and lead presales with account teams
• Monitor industry trends to inform client strategy and go-to-market activities
• Mentor consultants and build AI capabilities across the practice
