Job summary

WTW Ireland seeks an experienced Account Director to lead the Captive Management team in Dublin. The role combines strategic oversight, advisory support to multinational captive clients, and governance across underwriting and risk transfer.

You will guide leadership, nurture talent, and build strong stakeholder relationships while developing business opportunities. A hybrid work model and a comprehensive benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• Relevant years of underwriting experience in commercial insurance, reinsurance or captive insurance.
• Knowledge of Solvency II and the Irish regulatory environment.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• ACII or equivalent professional qualification.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop and manage team members; coach and mentor staff; support recruitment and succession planning.
• Act as lead contact for multinational captive clients; provide strategic underwriting and risk financing advice.
• Provide underwriting governance across client portfolios; review risk exposures, pricing, retentions and policy wordings.
• Design and evaluate reinsurance and alternative risk transfer structures; negotiate with reinsurers and brokers.
• Ensure compliance with Central Bank of Ireland requirements, Solvency II and governance standards.
• Support proposals, tenders and client presentations to win new business; contribute to market thought leadership.
• Use analytics and actuarial modelling to support underwriting decisions and provide data-driven recommendations.
