Job summary

Hodson Bay Group in Athlone, Co. Westmeath, is seeking a Still Room Assistant for Harvest Homemade Café to support the busy café operations. You will help maintain cleanliness, manage stock, and support kitchen teams, with full training provided and a friendly team environment.

The role requires weekday and weekend availability and offers on-site duties, meals on duty, and opportunities to contribute to high standards of service within a reputable hospitality group.

Qualifications

• Must have positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and high cleanliness standards.
• Reliable, flexible, and team-focused.
• Good communication and ability to follow instructions.
• Previous cleaning, kitchen porter, still room, or hospitality experience is an advantage, but training provided.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization in still room, wash-up, and kitchen support areas.
• Wash and store crockery, cutlery, glassware to high hygiene standards.
• Assist with delivery, storage, and rotation of stock.
• Support café and kitchen teams with cleaning and preparation duties.
• Follow all food safety, HACCP, and health & safety procedures.
• Assist in other areas of the café as required.

Harvest Homemade Café is looking for a motivated Still Room Assistant to join our friendly team and play a key role in supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of our busy café.This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a welcoming team environment where quality, teamwork, and customer satisfaction are at the heart of everything we do.

Please note: Weekday and weekend availability is essential for this role, as we aim to provide exceptional service throughout the week.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Maintaining cleanliness and organisation in the still room, wash-up, and kitchen support areas.
• Washing and storing crockery, cutlery, glassware, and kitchen equipment to the highest hygiene standards.
• Assisting with the delivery, storage, and rotation of stock.
• Supporting the café and kitchen teams with general cleaning and preparation duties.
• Ensuring all food safety, HACCP, and health & safety procedures are followed at all times.
• Helping in other areas of the café as required to support the team.
