Job summary

The Hodson Bay Hotel in Athlone is seeking a Food and Beverage Assistant to join our friendly team. We have full-time midweek and weekend shifts across the Restaurant, Bar, Café or Room Service, with a focus on providing excellent guest service.

The ideal candidate is energetic, customer focused and can work under pressure. F&B experience and cash handling are advantageous; knowledge of drinks/cocktails is helpful but not essential.

Qualifications

• 1 year Food & Beverage experience desired.
• Knowledge of drinks and cocktails preferred, but not essential.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to take initiative and work well under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Process payments including cash, credit and debit transactions.
• Provide Food & Beverage duties per standards across restaurant, bar, cafe or room service.
• Participate in training as required by supervisor or manager.
• Communicate hotel services to guests and maintain high standards of customer care.
• Adhere to health & safety practices and hotel policies.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have availability to work across midweek and weekends on a fulltime basis.

Main Duties:

• To process payments including cash, credit and debit transactions
• To carry out all Food & Beverage assistant duties as per the agreed standards.
• To participate in training as required by Supervisor or Manager.
• To be responsible for the service of the Restaurant, Bar, Café or Room Service where directed.
• To ensure the highest levels of Customer Care are practised at all times.
• To carry out the Hotel’s customer relations policy.
• To communicate Hotel services to guests.
• To ensure cash/vouchers and all forms of payment are handled in a secure and responsible manner in all Food & Beverage Outlets
• To ensure a high standard of personal hygiene and grooming.
• To wear relevant uniform and name badge at all times.
• To ensure that reasonable care is taken for the Health & Safety of yourself, other employees, guests and any other persons on the Hotel premises.
• Any other duties as directed by management.

A little bit about you:

• 1 year Food & Beverage experience desired

• Enjoy working in a fast paced environment
• Previous Cash Handling experience an advantage
