Medserv is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to modernise our core platform. You will be among the most senior engineers driving architecture, design, and delivery across PHP/Laravel and AI-enabled features for claims processing and billing.

You’ll shape APIs, review code, mentor peers and collaborate with DevOps to improve CI/CD, testing and observability while maintaining high reliability in a hybrid Dublin-based environment.

Qualifications

• Strong professional experience with PHP.
• Experience with Laravel or another modern PHP framework.
• Strong system design and database skills.
• Experience modernising complex or legacy platforms.
• Good knowledge of MySQL, APIs, security and automated testing.
• Strong technical judgement and the ability to work through ambiguity.
• Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction.
• Experience with React, Vue or TypeScript is useful but not essential.

We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to help modernise Medserv’s core platform and solve some of our most important technical challenges. You will be one of the most senior hands‑on engineers in the team, working across architecture, system design, technical delivery and engineering standards. The role is primarily focused on PHP and Laravel, with opportunities to contribute to AI‑assisted features across claims processing, medical coding and billing automation.

What We’re Looking For

You do not need to meet every requirement below. We are primarily looking for a highly capable engineer with strong judgement, broad technical experience and the ability to influence engineering beyond an individual project.

Additional Information:

• This is a flexible hybrid position. While day‑to‑day flexibility is supported, you'll be expected to attend our Dublin office for key planning sessions, design workshops and collaborative activities. Applicants should therefore be based within reasonable travelling distance of Dublin.
