Pantheon is hiring a Staff Software Engineer for Platform Infrastructure in Ireland. You will establish SRE as a discipline, define SLO/SLI frameworks, and raise reliability across 15+ engineering teams. The role emphasizes Go, GCP, Terraform, and Grafana-centric observability, with a strong security/compliance focus.

You’ll lead the design of reusable templates and patterns, mentor engineers, and own full lifecycle operations in a remote-friendly environment based in Ireland.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of SRE principles: SLOs/SLIs, error budgets, toil reduction.
• Hands-on with GCP services: Cloud Run, GKE, Cloud SQL, Secret Manager, IAP/IAM, networking.
• Observability experience: metrics, traces, logs with Prometheus/OpenTelemetry/Grafana.
• Terraform: writing modules and reusable patterns across teams.
• Security-minded: IAM least-privilege, networking controls, secrets management.
• Technical leadership: setting direction for platforms and guiding engineers.
• Platform thinking: building self-service patterns and templates.
• Clear communication: conveying reliability risk to engineers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Establish SRE as a discipline and drive adoption across PIE and Internal Platform Group.
• Set observability standards and own metrics/traces/logs patterns.
• Build and maintain service templates, Terraform modules, and infrastructure patterns.
• Favor GCP primitives and drive migration to managed services.
• Drive security/compliance across SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI DSS.
• Mentor engineers to raise the technical bar on reliability.
• Operate in a full DevOps lifecycle: development to support.
• Participate in on-call rotations after ramp period.
