Job summary

Avista is a person-centred, rights-based organisation providing Day, Residential and Respite supports across Dublin, Limerick and North Tipperary. Avista is seeking a Staff Nurse for San Joseph Respite House, Limerick, on a permanent full-time basis (37.5 hours weekly) with a salary of €38,166–€56,592 (lsi).

The role requires NMBI registration, a full Irish driving licence, and English proficiency, with rostered day and night hours across seven days. Avista values inclusion and quality practice.

Responsibilities

Avista provide Residential and Day Services to people with Disabilities. San Joseph Respite House offers overnight and day respite services to children with complex disability needs.

We are looking for enthusiastic candidates who are committed to supporting children with disabilities and their families, in a child and family centred, community based, socially inclusive manner in accordance with our core values and ethos and underpinned by quality, best practice and research. This post will include working as part of a team and working varied hours to a day and night roster as this service operates 7 days a week.

Essential

• Experience in working with children with complex needs and their families
• Have up to date NMBI Registration.
• Full clean manual Irish driving licence.
• Proficiency in the English language.

Desirable

• Have proven organizational, communication, interpersonal and team working skills.
• Be committed to pro-actively supporting children in their daily living activities and provide choices and learning opportunities through a child-centered approach.
• Have an organizational commitment to implement Avista core values and vision.
• Have previous experience of working with children with a dual diagnosis.
