Job summary

Windmill Healthcare Group is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse to join our Care Team on a part-time basis at Abbot Close Care Centre, Askeaton, Co. Limerick.

You must be registered with NMBI with an active PIN and have experience in gerontological or residential nursing care. The role emphasizes high standards of nursing practice, effective communication, and working with a team to deliver person-centred care in a HIQA-compliant setting.

Qualifications

• Must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) and hold an active PIN.
• Experience in gerontological or residential nursing care preferred.
• Knowledge of HIQA standards and Health Act Regulations 2013 is desirable.
• Fluent in English (verbal & written).
• Strong communication and ability to lead a care team.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred nursing care to residents.
• Maintain high standards of professional nursing practice.
• Build relationships with residents, relatives and visitors for continuity of care.
• Adhere to Windmill Healthcare policies at all times.
• Ensure safe drug administration and custody per policy.
• Maintain HIQA compliance awareness and participate in inspections.
• Assist admissions with proper documentation and care planning.
• Coordinate care with external health professionals for smooth discharges.
• Support CNM/DON with daily management and participate in ongoing training.

Windmill Healthcare is currently recruiting for a qualified Registered Nurse to join our Care Team part time at Abbot Close Care Centre, Askeaton Co. Limerick.

Applicants must be currently registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland and be passionate about Gerontological Care.

Newly qualified & experienced Nurses are encouraged to apply.

Duties:

• To provide efficient and effective care to residents on a person-centered basis
• To promote through high standards of professional nursing practice, a caring environment conducive to the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of residents
• Establishing relationships with all our residents, relatives, and visitors to ensure support and comfort is given at all times
• Ensuring all Windmill Healthcare policies are known and adhered to by all staff
• Ensures the agreed policies and procedures for the control, administration, and custody of all drugs and medicines are adhered to
• Knowledge and awareness of HIQA standards and ability to participate in inspection process - Care Centre is fully compliant with HIQA standards
• Ensure all admissions to the home are carried out correctly and all appropriate documentation completed
• Liaise with health care professionals as necessary regarding the discharge of a resident to the community to ensure continuity of care.
• Daily management support provided from CNM/DON
• Extensive training is given

Skills:

• Registered on the Irish live register (NMBI). Must have an active PIN
• Has clinical experience working in Gerontological Care or Residential Nursing Care
• Working experience of HIQA Standards and Health Act Regulations 2013
• Fluent in the English language (verbal and written) and be eligible to work in Ireland
• Strong communication and listening skills
• Work well with and lead a care team
