Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Staff Engineer - Molding in Limerick, Ireland to provide technical leadership for contact lens molding and associated manufacturing systems. The role focuses on equipment reliability, process optimization, tooling strategy, NPI, and continuous improvement while ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

You will interface with Manufacturing, R&D, Optical Tooling, and external suppliers to drive tooling development, mold flow simulations, and robust

Qualifications

Requires strong expertise in injection molding processes and tooling.
Experience leading cross-functional teams across R&D, Manufacturing, and Quality.
Proven track record in process optimization and NPI in medical device/manufacturing contexts.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership for molding and tooling across contact lens production.
Lead mold design reviews, supplier RFQs/URS, and tooling lifecycle management.
Drive process reliability, troubleshooting, and root cause investigations.
Support NPI and industrialization of new lens technologies.
Collaborate with R&D, Optical Tooling, Automation, and Process Engineering.
Ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance in molding operations.
