Job summary
Johnson & Johnson in Limerick seeks a Staff Automation Engineer to lead automation initiatives within the Vision Care manufacturing site. You will report to the Automation Team Lead and work onsite to maintain and improve complex control systems across multiple platforms.
The ideal candidate brings a Bachelor degree in engineering or CS and a strong background in PLCs, HMI, and robotics, with extensive experience in automated production environments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
- 9/10 years proven track record with automated control systems.
- Experience with machine design teams and industrial automation.
Responsibilities
- Provide automation expertise at design review stages and produce URS, FDS, SDS, SAT, FAT.
- Develop and debug control software for servo, pneumatic, safety, electrical, and data control.
- Mentor junior engineers and support cross‑functional teams.
- Develop and validate machine control software and diagnose automation faults.
- Ensure projects meet timelines, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
