Job summary

McKesson is seeking an experienced solution architect to shape SAP serialization and traceability systems. You will oversee architecture direction, roadmaps, and guardrails across ATTP, S/4HANA, and partner integrations, ensuring scalable, compliant solutions for pharma supply chains.

You will collaborate with engineering and business teams to document decisions, drive implementation, and align with GS1 standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in solution/SAP architecture or related tech delivery roles.
• Experience with SAP ATTP, pharmaceutical serialization, DSCSA compliance.
• Experience with SAP ATTP implementations, upgrades, migrations, or global serialization programs.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements, FDA guidance, DSCSA interoperability, and serialization mandates.
• Hands-on knowledge of serialization and aggregation workflows across pharma manufacturing, distribution, or logistics.
• Experience integrating SAP S/4HANA or SAP ECC with supply chain, warehouse, or compliance platforms.
• Understanding GS1 standards, including GTIN, EPCIS, product identifiers, and traceability data exchange.
• Experience leading architecture assessments, solution design, roadmaps, or fit-gap analyses for enterprise-scale initiatives.
• Ability to document architecture decisions and explain complex technical concepts to cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Define architecture direction, roadmaps, standards, and design guardrails for SAP serialization and traceability solutions.
• Lead fit-gap assessments across SAP ATTP, S/4HANA, supply chain systems, serialization repositories, and partner integrations.
• Design end-to-end serialization, aggregation, commissioning, decommissioning, and EPCIS data exchange workflows.
• Support DSCSA, FDA serialization mandates, and GS1 standards including GTIN, EPCIS, product identifiers, and traceability requirements.
• Partner with engineering and business teams to evaluate options, document architecture decisions, and guide implementation.
• Ensure solutions meet scalability, performance, security, compliance, reliability, and operational support.
• Identify architecture risks, dependencies, and mitigation strategies across ecosystems.
• Communicate technical trade-offs and recommendations clearly to stakeholders.

What You’ll Do

Basic Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Skills/Experience

• Experience with APIs, event-driven integration, middleware, B2B/EDI, EPCIS messaging, or cloud integration platforms.
• Familiarity with architecture frameworks, governance, reference architecture, security-by-design, or well-architected practices.
• Experience collaborating with product, compliance, quality, operations, security, and external trading partner teams.
• Ability to influence architecture standards and coach engineers or solution teams through complex design decisions.

Description of Travel or In-Office and Physical Requirement

• Work arrangement may be hybrid, or office-based depending on business and team needs.
• Occasional travel may be required for planning sessions, stakeholder meetings, implementation support, or partner engagement.
