Qualifications

• 7+ years of SAP architecture, application development, integration, automation, or related technology experience.

• Experience in Datasphere modeling and data integration patterns.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure for SAP workloads, preferably Azure.

About the Role

McKesson is seeking a Sr. Architect, BTP‑WZ, Automation, Visualization, Workflows and AI to lead the architecture, standards, and technical direction for SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). This role will define scalable and reusable BTP architecture patterns across application development, SAP Build Work Zone, integration, automation, workflows, visualization, and AI, while enabling McKesson’s S/4HANA transformation and clean‑core strategy. The architect will guide how BTP integrates with SAP S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, Datasphere, Azure, and other enterprise platforms, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, compliant, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards. Working across engineering, security, infrastructure, data and analytics, and business teams, this role will provide architecture leadership, establish governance and reusable patterns, evaluate emerging BTP capabilities, and help teams translate business requirements into sustainable enterprise solutions.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the architecture and technical direction for SAP BTP, establishing scalable, secure, and reusable patterns aligned with enterprise architecture and clean‑core principles.
• Architect and govern solutions using SAP Build Work Zone, enabling integrated, role‑based experiences across SAP and enterprise applications.
• Design automation and workflow solutions that streamline business processes, improve productivity, and enable reusable enterprise capabilities.
• Define architecture patterns for visualization and user experiences, bringing together applications, business processes, data, analytics, and insights.
• Architect side‑by‑side extensions on SAP BTP that extend SAP S/4HANA capabilities while supporting a clean‑core strategy.
• Define integration patterns across SAP S/4HANA, BTP, BW/4HANA, Datasphere, Azure, APIs, and other SAP and non‑SAP platforms.
• Evaluate and enable AI capabilities within BTP, incorporating AI into applications, automation, workflows, and business processes where appropriate.
• Establish BTP architecture standards and governance across security, identity, connectivity, development, deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
• Create reference architectures, reusable frameworks, standards, roadmaps, and solution designs that accelerate BTP adoption and promote consistency across programs.
• Partner with SAP, data and analytics, integration, security, infrastructure, engineering, and business teams to translate business needs into scalable enterprise solutions.
• Evaluate emerging SAP BTP, automation, visualization, workflow, and AI capabilities, guide proof‑of‑concepts, and recommend solutions that deliver measurable business value.

Basic Requirements

• 7+ years of SAP architecture, application development, integration, automation, or related technology experience, including 3+ years of hands‑on experience with SAP BTP or its predecessor platforms.
• Demonstrated experience architecting and delivering solutions using SAP BTP capabilities such as SAP Build Work Zone, application development, integration, automation, workflows, and/or AI services.
• Experience in Datasphere modeling and consumption of analytical in SAP Build Workzone Experience designing data integration patterns, ETL/ELT pipelines, APIs, or enterprise application integrations.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure for SAP workloads, preferably Microsoft Azure.
• Demonstrated ability to create architecture documentation, solution designs, standards, and technical recommendations.
• Experience working with cross‑functional technical and business stakeholders in enterprise or regulated environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Skills/Experience

• Experience with SAP Cloud Integration, SAP Analytics Cloud.
• Knowledge of Azure services for SAP, including networking, storage, identity, monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery patterns.
• Experience with data governance, metadata management, lineage, access controls, and compliance‑driven architecture.
• Familiarity with Zero Trust, secure‑by‑design architecture, and enterprise security standards.
• Experience mentoring architects, engineers, or delivery teams through design reviews and architecture governance.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non‑technical audiences.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.

Our Base Pay Range for this position €68,700 - €114,500. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long‑term incentive opportunities may be offered.
