Job summary

A leading global firm in Dublin is seeking an experienced SQL DBA/Developer for a rolling contract. You will manage a large SQL database environment, monitor performance, resolve bottlenecks, and implement high-availability strategies.

Responsibilities include administration, maintenance, security, and policy development to ensure data integrity on MS SQL Server across versions up to 2025. Fast-paced, regulated environment with complex data flows.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of SQL experience in high-volume transaction processing environments.
• Strong MS SQL Server experience up to 2025 and performance tuning.
• Experience with SQL clustering, replication, hardware replication and disaster recovery.

SQL DBA/Developer Contract Dublin 6-18 Months

My client a leading global firm is in urgent need of a talented and experienced SQL DBA/Developer to join their group on a rolling contract basis.

This is a multiyear transformation project for a large SQL Database, (17 petabytes of data). In a highly regulated environment. You will perform Database monitoring, troubleshooting, performance tuning, high-availability strategies with MS SQL Server 2016, 2029, 2025 in a production environment. You will be Administering, maintaining, developing and recommending policies and procedures for ensuring the performance, availability, security and integrity of the company's databases and systems. You will be proactively monitoring production databases and sp execution for optimum performance. Resolve locking conflicts/blocking and resource utilisation. Identifying and resolving database performance issues, database capacity issues and other database issues.

Successful candidates will have 10+ years of SQL experience in high volume transaction processing environment. Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server up to 2025.Strong experience on performance tuning on MS SQL Server; experience with data integrity, data retention. Knowledge of, and working experience with, business intelligent technologies. You must have comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft SQL Management and SSIS tool. Must have experience with SQL clustering, SQL replication, hardware replication, and/or disaster recovery implementations. You must be able to operate in fast paced very high volume transaction processing environment.
