Job summary

Stelfox Limited seeks a Senior SQL Server Database Specialist for a 6‑month rolling contract based in Dublin, Ireland. The role operates on a hybrid model with 3 days onsite, offering exposure to enterprise SQL Server environments and data migration projects.

You will administer, support, and optimize SQL Server databases, perform troubleshooting and performance tuning, and collaborate with development and infrastructure teams.

Qualifications

• 8-10+ years of commercial experience in large enterprise environments.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2016 or later.
• Leads SQL Server function within the team.
• Experience in database administration and support.
• Data migration, backup, recovery, and restore procedures.
• ETL/SSIS experience and batch processing.
• SQL performance tuning and optimization.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate with development and infrastructure teams.

Responsibilities

• Administer, support, and maintain SQL Server databases.
• Perform database analysis, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Plan and execute data migration activities.
• Ensure data integrity, security, backup, recovery, and restore processes.
• Develop and support ETL solutions using SSIS.
• Manage and troubleshoot high-volume batch processing environments.
• Work closely with development teams on database design and application support.
• Monitor database performance and recommend infrastructure improvements, including new hardware procurement.
