Great National Hotel Ballina is seeking an experienced Spa Manager to lead the Eidin Spa. You will oversee day-to-day operations, drive revenue, and ensure exceptional guest experiences in a hands-on leadership role.

The ideal candidate has at least three years in spa management, a recognized beauty therapy qualification, and strong people management skills. A hotel environment experience and promotions development are a plus. Hybrid working is not indicated; on-site presence is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years' experience in spa management or comparable leadership role.
• ITEC, CIBTAC or CIDESCO qualification in beauty therapy or related discipline.
• Strong leadership, people-management and guest-service skills.
• Experience in rostering, budgeting, stock control and vendor management.
• Good knowledge of hygiene, health & safety and compliance.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and commercially focused Spa Manager to lead the team at Eidin Spa, Great National Hotel Ballina.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for the day-to-day management and future development of the spa. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring excellent treatment knowledge, strong people-management skills and the ability to drive revenue while consistently delivering an exceptional guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the daily operation of Eidin Spa, including staffing, rosters, appointment scheduling and facility presentation.
• Lead, motivate, train and develop the spa team, ensuring consistently high standards of professionalism and guest care.
• Ensure all treatments, consultations and follow-up recommendations are completed to the required professional standard.
• Manage spa revenue, labour costs, departmental expenses and agreed financial targets.
• Drive treatment, package, membership and retail-product sales.
• Develop promotions, seasonal packages and local marketing initiatives to attract new clients and encourage repeat business.
• Monitor booking patterns and adjust staffing and opening arrangements to meet business demand.
• Manage stock levels, purchasing, stocktaking and product controls.
• Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, hygiene, presentation and record keeping throughout the spa.
• Monitor guest feedback, investigate concerns and ensure complaints are addressed promptly and professionally.
• Maintain spa policies, standard operating procedures, emergency action procedures and operational records.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable health and safety requirements, treatment protocols and hotel policies.
• Report equipment faults promptly and support an effective preventative-maintenance programme.
• Work closely with the hotel's management, sales, front-office, leisure and food-and-beverage teams to develop packages and enhance the overall guest journey.
• Provide regular performance updates to senior management covering revenue, labour, staffing, sales, stock and guest feedback.
• Build strong working relationships within the hotel and with the local community.
• Identify opportunities to improve services, treatments, products and operational efficiencies.

Essential Requirements

• A minimum of three years' experience in spa management, assistant spa management, spa supervision or a comparable leadership position within a spa, hotel, wellness or beauty environment.
• A recognised ITEC, CIBTAC and/or CIDESCO qualification in beauty therapy, body treatments, massage or a related discipline.
• Strong working knowledge of professional treatments, client consultations, contraindications and treatment protocols.
• Demonstrated experience in supervising, training and developing employees.
• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service and manage guest concerns effectively.
• Experience in managing rosters, labour costs, budgets, stock and departmental expenses.
• A commercial approach with experience in achieving treatment, package and retail-sales targets.
• Good computer and administrative skills, including Microsoft Office and spa booking or management systems.
• A strong understanding of hygiene, health and safety, risk assessment and operational compliance.
• The ability to prioritise effectively and remain professional within a busy, guest-focused environment.
• Flexibility to work according to business requirements, including weekends and peak trading periods.

Desirable Requirements

• A degree or recognised qualification in hospitality, business management, spa management or a related field.
• Experience managing a spa within a hotel environment.
• Experience in developing promotions, digital content, local partnerships and client-retention initiatives.
