Job summary

Fruition Group Ireland seeks an experienced Solution Architect to own end-to-end technical solution design across complex technology change initiatives. You will lead design across application, data, infrastructure, cloud, integration and security domains, collaborating with enterprise architecture and delivery teams.

With 5+ years in architecture roles, you will ensure designs align with standards, document decisions, and guide governance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in Solution Architecture or a closely related architecture role, ideally on large-scale programmes.
• Experience designing solutions with multiple technology teams, suppliers and stakeholders.
• Broad knowledge across application, infrastructure, information and data, security, integration and cloud.
• Depth across at least two major architecture or engineering domains.
• Experience with on-premises and cloud-based services.
• Solid understanding of software engineering, integration and delivery practices.
• Excellent stakeholder management and ability to explain technical decisions to diverse audiences.
• Experience with Oracle databases and related development technologies (PL/SQL, Oracle APEX).
• Knowledge of enterprise Java platforms and middleware technologies.
• Experience with Linux environments and enterprise messaging (IBM MQ).
• Familiarity with AWS and/or Microsoft Azure environments.
• Experience in large financial services or similarly regulated organisations.
• Continuous improvement mindset toward modernising architecture, engineering and delivery practices.

Our client, a large organisation within the financial services sector, is seeking an experienced Solution Architect to take ownership of end-to-end technical solution design across complex technology change initiatives.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design of solutions across application, data, infrastructure, cloud, integration and security domains.
• Work closely with enterprise architecture, engineering teams, business stakeholders and programme delivery functions to define appropriate technical solutions.
• Produce and maintain architecture and solution design documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure proposed solutions comply with established technology principles, standards and strategic architecture direction.
• Provide technical input into project planning, estimation and delivery while identifying key risks, assumptions, dependencies and architectural considerations.
• Present proposed designs and architecture decisions to relevant technical governance and review forums.
• Collaborate with engineering, integration, data, security, testing, deployment and release teams to support successful implementation.
• Engage with internal stakeholders and third-party technology providers to resolve architectural issues and ensure solutions can be delivered effectively.

Experience Required

• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in Solution Architecture or a closely related architecture role, ideally supporting large-scale and complex technology transformation programmes.
• Strong experience designing solutions within environments involving multiple technology teams, suppliers and business stakeholders.
• Broad technical knowledge across application architecture, infrastructure, information and data, security, integration and cloud technologies.
• Demonstrable technical depth across at least two major architecture or engineering domains.
• Experience designing solutions incorporating both traditional on-premises technologies and modern cloud-based services.
• Strong understanding of contemporary software engineering, integration and technology delivery practices.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to assess architectural options, identify technical risks and support informed decision-making throughout the delivery lifecycle.Experience working with enterprise database technologies, particularly Oracle databases and associated development technologies.
• Knowledge of enterprise Java application platforms and middleware technologies.
• Experience with Linux-based environments and enterprise messaging platforms.
• Familiarity with technologies such as Oracle Database, PL/SQL, Oracle APEX, Red Hat JBoss and IBM MQ.
• Experience integrating SaaS platforms and existing enterprise systems.
• Practical knowledge of AWS and/or Microsoft Azure environments.
• Previous experience within a large financial services or similarly regulated organisation.
• A continuous improvement mindset with an interest in modernising architecture, engineering and delivery practices.

Educational Requirements

• Third-level degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or another relevant discipline.
• Relevant architecture, cloud or technology certifications would be advantageous.
