Job summary

Greenvolt Next in Ireland is seeking a Solar Technical Engineer to support design, planning, procurement, construction and commissioning of large-scale solar PV projects across the country. You will collaborate with internal teams, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure technical delivery aligns with performance, budget and timeline expectations.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in electrical/renewable energy, 2–5 years solar PV experience, knowledge of Irish/EU standards, and proficiency with

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field.
2–5 years engineering experience in solar PV or renewables; EPC a plus.
Knowledge of Irish/EU standards including ET103 and ESB Networks requirements.
Proficient with AutoCAD, PVsyst and Microsoft Office.
Willingness to travel across Ireland with a valid driving license.

Responsibilities

Assist in preliminary and detailed engineering designs for solar PV systems.
Review technical documents, specs, datasheets, and drawings.
Support project managers with schedules, procurement, and subcontractor coordination.
Ensure design compliance with Irish/EU standards and safety regulations.
Liaise with DNO/ESB Networks on grid connection designs.
Perform on-site inspections and support construction and commissioning.
Assist with energy yield assessments, cable sizing and system optimization.
Prepare O&M handover documentation and commissioning reports.
Contribute to continuous improvement across projects.
