Job summary

DigitalWell is seeking a Software Engineer to develop web-based services on AWS & Azure, leveraging AI/ML and automation to support customers on an Intelligent Voice Network. You will design integrations, implement full-stack applications (React/Next.js frontend, .NET Core backend), and help deliver production-ready solutions.

This hybrid role requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Limerick office, offering opportunities to collaborate with cross-functional teams and drive deployment

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline.
  • AWS Certified Solution Architect – Associate (preferred / in progress).

Responsibilities

Role Summary:

DigitalWell is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Team. This role will be centred around developing web-based services and applications in AWS & MS Azure. In many instances you will be leveraging AI, ML and automation technologies to support services we offer our clients on our Intelligent Voice Network. You will also support our CX Technology Clients using similar technologies and principles in the delivery of superior CX & employee experiences with increased efficiency and simplicity.

This role will be Hybrid. With a minimum 2 days per week in person in our Limerick Office.

Some responsibilities will include:
  • Design, build, and maintain integrations between internal and external systems
  • Develop and support full-stack applications (React/Next.js frontend, .NET Core backend)
  • Build event-driven, serverless solutions using AWS services
  • Support and evolve customer-facing applications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, support, clients) to gather requirements and deliver integration solutions
  • Manage deployments via CI/CD pipelines, ensuring reliable and repeatable releases
  • Troubleshoot and support production systems
  • Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical documentation
Requirements:
Experience, Education & Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years professional software engineering experience required
  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline
  • Ideally is certified in the below or working toward completion:
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate
Skills:
  • Full-Stack Software Engineering – Proficient across the stack, with hands-on experience in React.js/Next.js front-end development and .NET Core/C# back-end development.
  • Cloud Architecture (AWS) – Practical experience designing and building solutions using AWS services such as Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, ECS, SQS, and EventBridge.
  • Event-Driven & Serverless Design – Ability to architect and implement event-driven, serverless systems that are scalable, resilient, and loosely coupled.
  • Systems Integration – Skilled at designing, building, and maintaining integrations between internal and external/third-party systems, including API design and data exchange patterns.
  • AI/ML & Intelligent Automation – Working knowledge of AWS AI/ML services (e.g. SageMaker, Comprehend, Transcribe, Textract, Bedrock, Personalize, Pinpoint) and the ability to apply them to real business use cases such as document processing, personalization, and customer messaging.
  • Database & Data Management – Competence in relational database design and management (PostgreSQL), including query optimisation and data integrity practices.
  • DevOps & Release Management – Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, ensuring reliable, repeatable, and low-risk deployments.
  • Production Support & Troubleshooting – Strong diagnostic skills, with the ability to identify, triage, and resolve issues in live production systems under time pressure.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration – Comfortable working closely with product, support, and client stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Technical Communication & Documentation – Able to contribute effectively to code reviews, architecture discussions, and clear, maintainable technical documentation.
  • Adaptability & Continuous Learning – Willingness to pick up adjacent technologies (e.g. Genesys Cloud) and stay current with evolving cloud and AI capabilities relevant to the platform.
