BearingPoint Ireland is seeking a Software Delivery Manager to lead software delivery teams on client engagements. You will take day-to-day ownership of project delivery, team coordination, and client communication, working with architects and engineering leads to ensure high-quality, iterative delivery.
The role operates within an overall programme context with strategic accountability retained by Senior Delivery Managers. Hybrid working is available.
We are looking for a driven and technically fluent Software Delivery Manager to lead software delivery teams on client engagements. Operating at Manager level, you will take day-to-day ownership of project delivery, team coordination, and client communication. You will work closely with SeniorDelivery Managers, Architects, and engineering leads to ensure high-quality, iterative delivery of software solutions.The Software Delivery Manageroperateswithin an overall programme context, with strategic and commercial accountabilityretainedby the Senior Software Delivery Manager
Owns day-to-day delivery execution within agreed programme constraints.
Lead day-to-day delivery of software projects and workstreams, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, quality, and budget.
Manage cross-functional delivery teams of engineers, testers, and business analysts, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture.
Plan and manage sprints, releases, and programme increments using Agile and Scrum practices.
Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for client project teams, building strong working relationships and trust.
Proactivelyidentify, assess, and mitigate delivery risks and issues, escalating appropriately to Senior Delivery Managersand/or Programme Lead.
Prepare and present regular project status reports, dashboards, and governance packs to internal and client stakeholders.
Support commercial activities including change request management, time tracking, and budget monitoring.
Collaborate with Software Architects and technical leads to ensure solutions are delivered to agreedquality standards.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of delivery practices, tooling, and team processes.
Support the onboarding, coaching, and development of junior team members.
Ensure Agile principles and processes are applied appropriately across teams.
Translate technical risks, constraints, and issues intoclear languagefor stakeholders.
Work with the Technical Lead and QA Lead to understand technical blockers, architectural considerations, and quality risks, ensuring these are represented in delivery planning.
Coordinate withTeam Leads/ Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Technical Lead, and QA Lead to align delivery with technical and qualityobjectives.
Consolidatedelivery status and provide reporting to the Programme Lead and stakeholders.
Act as the point of contact for Team Leads / Scrum Masters, ensuring their escalations are addressed and teamsremainunblocked.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across teams, focusing on delivery efficiency and predictability.
Release Management – coordinate both internal and external activities to ensure all prerequisites are metin a timely manner,appropriate resourcesare in place, and all relevant communications are provided.
Essential:
10+ years of experience in software delivery, project management, or a related technical discipline.
Solid experience delivering software projects using Agile/Scrum methodologies in a professional services or product environment.
Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), DevOps principles, and modern engineering practices.
Proven ability to manage client relationships effectively and communicate clearly at various levels of seniority.
Experience using delivery and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or equivalent.
Ability to manage competing priorities, work under pressure, and drive delivery in ambiguous or fast-paced environments.
Desirable:
Experience working in a management consultancy or systems integrator environment.
Relevant certifications: PSM, PRINCE2,AgilePM, PMP, or equivalent.
Familiarity with cloud-native deliveryin any of the followingAWS, AzureorGCPand CI/CD pipelines.
Exposure to scaled delivery frameworks such asSAFeorLeSS.
Degree in technical discipline (Software engineering etc)
