Job summary

Eden Social Care in Co. Tipperary is seeking a Deputy Manager to lead a dedicated children’s residential team. You will work closely with the Service Manager to create a safe, stable and therapeutic environment where young people can thrive.

The role offers a leadership path, salary €45,000–€50,000 DOE, and opportunities for ongoing training, development and progression within a growing service.

Qualifications

• A minimum Level 7 qualification in Social Care or CORU-acceptable equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Support the Service Manager in the day-to-day running of the service.
• Lead, motivate and develop a dedicated care team.
• Promote a safe, nurturing and therapeutic environment for young people.
• Support trauma-informed and child-centred practice.
• Assist with recruitment, supervision, training and staff development.
• Support compliance with HIQA standards, legislation and organisational policies.
• Contribute to audits, quality improvement and service development.
• Support effective staffing, resources and budgets.
• Participate in the senior management on-call rota.

What You'll Do

As Deputy Manager, you will:

• Support the Service Manager in the day-to-day running of the service.

What We're Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is compassionate, resilient and ready to lead.

You will have:

• A minimum Level 7 qualification in Social Care or a relevant qualification that meets CORU requirements for Social Care Worker registration.
• CORU registration or evidence that your registration application is being processed.
• At least 3 years' experience working directly with children and young people at Social Care Worker level.
• Experience supporting young people with complex or challenging behaviours.
• Experience working within a trauma-informed environment; crisis intervention experience is desirable.
• Strong communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of HIQA National Standards for Children’s Residential Centres.
• A full, clean manual driving licence valid in Ireland.

Equivalent relevant qualifications may be considered, including Psychology, Youth and Community Work, Social Sciences, Family Support, Disability Studies, Counselling/Psychotherapy, Nursing and other relevant disciplines.
