Job summary

Eden Social Care seeks a Deputy Manager to lead a children's residential service in Tipperary, Ireland. You will support the Service Manager, ensure safe, high-quality, child-centred care, and drive compliance with regulatory requirements.

Reporting to the Service Manager, you will guide a dedicated team, manage resources, and contribute to ongoing service development and performance improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience leading or managing a children's residential service.
• Strong leadership and people-management skills.
• Knowledge of HIQA standards and regulatory requirements.
• Commitment to trauma-informed care and child-centred practice.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing day-to-day operation of the residential service.
• Lead safety, wellbeing and development of children and young people in care.
• Provide leadership and supervision to the care team.
• Foster a trauma-informed, therapeutic culture within the service.
• Ensure compliance with HIQA, regulations and company policies.
• Manage staffing, recruitment, training, performance management and development.
• Assist in budgeting and financial management.
• Maintain a safe, welcoming environment for young people.
• Participate in senior management on-call rota.
• Lead audits and continuous service improvement initiatives.

About the Role

As a Deputy Manager, you will be responsible for the overall leadership, management, and operation of a children's residential service. You will ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, child-centred care while maintaining compliance with all regulatory, legislative, and organisational requirements. You will lead and inspire a dedicated team, promote a positive culture, manage resources effectively, and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve the best possible outcomes for young people.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in managing the day-to-day operation of the residential service.
• Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and development of children and young people in care.
• Provide leadership, supervision, and support to the Deputy Manager, Social Care Leaders and Social Care Workers.
• Foster a positive, trauma-informed, and therapeutic culture within the service.
• Ensure compliance with HIQA standards, Child Care Regulations, company policies, and legislative requirements.
• Manage staffing, recruitment, training, performance management, and professional development.
• Assist in house budgets and ensure effective financial management.
• Maintain a safe, welcoming, and homely environment for young people.
• Participate in the senior management on-call rota.
• Lead audits, quality assurance processes, and continuous service improvement initiatives.
