Job summary

TerraGlen Residential Care Services in Kilkenny is seeking a Social Care Worker to provide person-centred support, promote dignity, and assist with daily living across our care setting.

Role includes safeguarding, building therapeutic relationships, and contributing to individual personal plans, with ongoing training and development provided. The service is on-site in Loughboy, Kilkenny, and supports employees' professional growth.

Qualifications

• Level 7+ qualification in Applied Social Care or CORU-approved discipline.
• CORU registration (or proof of CORU application) mandatory from 30 November 2025.
• Full, clean driving licence with minimum two years' experience.
• Genuine commitment to supporting people with disabilities.
• Garda Vetting will be required.

Responsibilities

• Promote dignity, choice, and active participation in line with New Directions.
• Support service users with personal care, communication, and emotional wellbeing.
• Participate as a Key Worker and contribute to personal plans.
• Build positive relationships with service users, families, and teams.

• Support safeguarding practices and risk reporting.

Your Role

• Provide person-centred support in daily living, community inclusion, and independent living skills.

• Maintain accurate records in line with HIQA standards and TerraGlen policies.
• Support safeguarding practices, risk reporting, and quality improvements.
• Work collaboratively as part of a warm, respectful team environment.

What You'll Need

• Level 7 or higher qualification in Applied Social Care or another CORU-approved discipline.
• CORU Registration (or proof of CORU application) - mandatory from 30 November 2025 as per the Social Care Workers Registration Board.
• Recognised qualification route or
• Recognition of Prior Learning / Assessment of Professional Competence route.
• Full, clean Driving Licence with minimum two years' experience.
• A genuine commitment to supporting people with disabilities.

Vetting Requirement

• Successful candidates will be subject to Garda Vetting through the National Vetting Bureau.
