Job summary

Lotus Care is offering a full-time Social Care Worker role in Tullamore, Co. Offaly. The organisation provides respite, residential and support services to individuals with intellectual disabilities within the Midlands community.

The role focuses on person-centred care, developing independence and daily living skills, and adhering to standards and medications administration. Applicants must be based in Ireland and hold a valid work permit.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 7 qualification in Applied Social Studies or equivalent.
• Registered (or in process) with the Social Care Workers Registration Board by CORU.
• Commitment to completing the remaining modules.
• Hold a full Irish driving license.
• Prior experience in social care or healthcare.
• Working knowledge of HIQA standards and regulations.
• Excellent verbal and writing skills.
• Garda Vetting/Police Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and encourage decision-making, independence, and personal development.
• Provide support in daily living skills, including personal hygiene, health and appearance.
• Work in a person-centred manner to meet individual care plans and goals.
• Adhere to policies and procedures, standards, regulations, and codes of practice.
• Administer and document the dispensation of prescribed medication.
• Undertake key worker responsibilities, helping service owners achieve goals.
• Document and report incidents and complaints involving staff, service owners or visitors.
• Work with MDT to achieve the goals of service owners.
