Job summary

Lotus Care invites applications for Social Care Worker roles across the Midlands, Ireland. These permanent full-time positions offer a salary of €35,000–€50,000 DOE and a varied working week with day and waking night shifts.

The role supports children and adults with intellectual disabilities in community settings, reporting to the Person in Charge. You will facilitate independence, assist with daily living skills, maintain accurate records, and work with the MDT to achieve service user goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 5 qualification in Applied Social Studies or Social Care.
• Registered (or in the process of registering) with CORU.
• Full, clean Irish driving licence.
• Experience in social care or healthcare desirable.
• Good working knowledge of HIQA standards and regulations.
• Excellent verbal and written English.
• Satisfactory Garda Vetting / Police Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and encourage decision-making, independence and personal development.
• Support daily living skills, including personal hygiene, health and appearance.
• Work in a person-centred manner to meet individual care plans and goals.
• Administer and document the dispensation of prescribed medication.
• Undertake Key Worker responsibilities, helping service users achieve their goals.
• Maintain accurate documentation and reports.
• Work closely with the MDT to support service users' goals.
• Document and report incidents and complaints involving staff, service users or visitors.
• Adhere to policies, procedures, standards, regulations and codes of practice.

Skills

Excellent verbal and written English

Strong communication skills

Education

Minimum Level 5 qualification in Applied Social Studies or Social Care

CORU registration (Social Care Workers Registration Board)

Tools

Full, clean Irish driving licence
