Job summary

Galway Regional Youth Federation CLG T/A Youth Work Ireland, Galway seeks a Social Care Worker to join the team based in Ballinasloe, Galway. The role involves working with young people to address youth issues and anti-social behaviour, focusing on diverting youths from issues and supporting education and employment prospects, with programmes delivered mainly one-to-one or in small groups.

Applications require a Level 7 degree in youth/community work or related field, at least 2 years'

Qualifications

• 3rd level qualification - Level 7 Ordinary Bachelor's Degree (180 ECTS) in youth work or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience working with teens in a community setting.
• Skills in one-to-one work, group work and case management would be an advantage.
• Excellent IT skills and report writing experience are needed.
• Clean driving licence and access to a vehicle for work is necessary.

Galway Regional Youth Federation CLG T/A Youth Work Ireland, Galway seeks a Social Care Worker to join the team based in Ballinasloe, Galway.

The Role: The Social Care Worker works with young people to address youth issues and anti-social behaviour. The Social Care Worker is tasked with diverting young people from anti-social behaviour and other youth issues, supporting young people to remain in or return to education and increase their employment potential. Programmes are delivered mostly on a one-to-one basis or in small groups.

Key Responsibilities

• Liaise with families, other relevant agencies and attend meetings as appropriate.
• Ensure compliance with the requirements of the funder and supervise staff and budgets.
• Maintain required project documentation and produce reports that comply with the policies and procedures of the establishment and the Operational Guidelines for the projects.

Qualifications & Experience

• 3rd level qualification - Level 7 Ordinary Bachelor's Degree (180 ECTS credits) or above in youth work or community work, youth justice, social care, counselling, or another appropriate field.
• Minimum of 2 year's experience working with teens in a community setting.
• Skills in one-to-one work, group work and case management would be an advantage.
• Excellent IT skills and report writing experience are needed.
• Clean driving licence and access to a vehicle for work is necessary.

Salary: €37713 per annum

Hours: 35 hours per week, flexible shifts - may include evenings and weekends
