Job summary

Lotus Care in Athlone region is seeking an energetic Social Care Assistant for a full-time permanent role with a guaranteed 42-hour week at a single location.

The role involves supporting vulnerable children, carrying out daily living activities, and administering prescribed medications. Garda Vetting and a full Irish driving license are required. Salary ranges from €35,000 to €55,000 DOE, depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 5 qualification in Social or Health Care Studies.
• Holds a full Irish driving license (to drive a company car when required).
• Prior experience in social care or healthcare is desirable but not essential.
• Working knowledge of relevant standards and regulations.
• Excellent English essential (verbal and written skills).
• Garda Vetting/Police Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and encourage decision-making, independence, and personal development.
• Provide support in daily living skills, including personal hygiene, health and appearance.
• Work in a person-centred manner to meet individual care plans and goals.
• Adhere to policies and procedures, standards, regulations, and codes of practice.
• Administer and document the dispensation of prescribed medication.
• Undertake key worker responsibilities, helping service owners achieve goals.
• Document and report incidents and complaints involving staff, service owners or visitors.
• Work with MDT to achieve the goals of service owners.

• Contract Type: Full-time


• Working Week: Average of 42 hours a week, (day and waking night shifts required


• Location of Work: Athlone Region
