Job summary

Travelers Europe seeks a commercially minded SME Underwriting Officer to join the BI SME team, focusing on accelerating growth through our eTrade channel and delegated authority. You will work with the Chief Underwriting Officer to manage appetite, maintain robust controls, and drive portfolio governance for profitability, retention and growth across Europe.

Qualifications

• Advanced underwriting knowledge of products and risk assessment.
• Experience with property and casualty insurance.
• Commercial underwriting experience with SME focus.

Responsibilities

• Aid in developing national underwriting strategies to support profit and growth.
• Evaluate underwriter proficiency and underwriting quality.
• Support actuarial reporting of key performance metrics.
• Develop underwriting capabilities and coach teams on strategy and guidelines.
• Monitor trends and underwriting results for the countrywide book of business.
• Support SME projects as needed (Retail & Wholesale).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
