Groundworks Contractor in Waterford seeks an experienced Site Manager to oversee groundworks and civil engineering packages across two residential developments.

You will manage Foremen, groundworks crews, plant and subcontractors, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time and in line with programme.

Qualifications

• Experience as Site Manager or Civil Site Manager with groundworks exposure.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day groundworks and civil engineering activities across two residential developments in Waterford.
• Manage and coordinate Site Foremen, groundworks crews, machine operators and subcontractors across both sites.
• Deliver drainage, utilities, ducting, foundations, roads, kerbing, footpaths and external works.
• Plan labour, plant, materials and resources across both developments.
• Develop and manage short-term programmes to keep works progressing on schedule.
• Coordinate with Site Engineers, Foremen and senior management to resolve issues.
• Ensure works comply with drawings, specs and quality standards.
• Monitor progress and implement corrective actions to maintain programme.
• Coordinate with main contractor, suppliers and stakeholders for smooth delivery.
• Maintain high health & safety standards and site procedures.
• Oversee site inspections, quality checks and documentation.
• Provide regular progress updates to senior management.

The Role

An established groundworks contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Site Manager to oversee the delivery of groundworks and civil engineering packages across two residential developments in Waterford. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in groundworks, drainage, utilities and residential infrastructure who is comfortable managing multiple sites, coordinating site teams and taking responsibility for the overall delivery of works. The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day operations across both developments, managing Foremen, groundworks crews, plant and subcontractors while ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day management of groundworks and civil engineering activities across two residential developments in Waterford.
• Manage and coordinate Site Foremen, groundworks crews, machine operators and subcontractors across both sites.
• Take responsibility for the delivery of drainage, utilities, ducting, foundations, roads, kerbing, footpaths and associated external works.
• Plan and coordinate labour, plant, materials and resources across both developments.
• Develop and manage short-term programmes to ensure works progress in line with project deadlines.
• Work closely with Site Engineers, Foremen and senior management to coordinate site activities and resolve any issues.
• Ensure works are completed in accordance with construction drawings, specifications and quality standards.
• Monitor progress across both sites, identifying potential delays and implementing solutions to maintain programme.
• Coordinate with the main contractor, suppliers and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth delivery of works.
• Maintain high health & safety standards and ensure compliance with all relevant site procedures.
• Oversee site inspections, quality checks and the completion of relevant site documentation.
• Provide regular progress updates to senior management on programme, resources and overall site performance.

Experience Required

• Previous experience as a Site Manager, Civil Site Manager or experienced General Foreman with a groundworks contractor.
• Strong background in groundworks and civil engineering, ideally within residential developments.
• Experience overseeing multiple sites or managing substantial groundworks packages.
• Good technical understanding of drainage, utilities, foundations, roads and external infrastructure.
• Proven ability to manage Foremen, site crews, plant and subcontractors.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, site levels, sequencing and project programmes.
• Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to plan ahead, manage resources and coordinate activities across multiple sites.
• Strong knowledge of construction health & safety requirements.
• Full driving licence.
