Job summary

Cairn Homes is seeking a General Foreperson to join our Holybanks Site and establish high standards of operation and delivery. The role involves leading safety, coordinating tasks, and ensuring quality across civil works and landscaping.

The successful candidate will manage subcontractors, monitor daily progress, and align with the delivery programme while upholding Cairn’s brand and customer service expectations.

Qualifications

• Trade, logistics, or lifting operation background preferable.
• Ability to achieve demanding deadline and quality targets.
• Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
• Be methodical, with close attention to detail and accuracy.
• Able to work well with people at all levels and in a team.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work on own initiative.
• Capable of coordinating several tasks simultaneously.
• Willing to take responsibility for designated tasks.
• Certification as an appointed person/lifting supervisor is beneficial but not essential (training will be provided).
• Familiarity with relevant safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Ownership of the management of Health and Safety on the project.
• Understand target delivery programme, weekly reporting of same and active intervention to prevent delays.
• Attend and assist at daily whiteboard meetings.
• Continuous inspection of works on site, raising and resolving issues in a timely manner to ensure quality of works. Subcontractor and Supplier Management
• Completion of daily allocation sheets for site labour and materials.
• Management of civil engineering and groundworks contractor.
• Set up and maintain logistics walkways, including vehicle & pedestrian routes.
• Take control of works from house foundations, through to 1st & 2nd fix including external finishes, paving, boundary walls and landscaping.
• Effectively manage the movement of labour, machinery, and materials on and off site through site coordination & logistics software.
• Maintain a secure and safe site through effective Health & Safety practises.
• Management and coordination of subcontractors and service providers, to ensure timely handover to Finishing Foreman in line with programme requirements.
• Liaise with the engineering team to ensure waste management records are available and accurate.
• Instil a best-in-class customer service and experience for all stakeholders and be a strong advocate for the Cairn brand.
