Cairn is seeking a General Foreperson for the Glenamuck Site to establish and uphold high standards across operations. You will lead safety on site, manage the delivery programme, and coordinate labour, plant and subcontractors to ensure quality and on-time delivery.

This role requires strong communication, team leadership and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Expect exposure to a dynamic construction environment with competitive rewards and career development.

Qualifications

• Trade, logistics, or lifting operation background preferable.
• Good spoken and written communication skills.
• Methodical, pay attention to detail and be accurate.
• Able to coordinate several tasks and work in a team.
• Willing to take responsibility for completing tasks.
• Appointed person/lifting supervisor certification beneficial but not essential.
• Familiarity with relevant safety regulations.

Responsabilités

• Own the management of Health and Safety on the project.
• Understand target delivery programme, weekly reporting of same and active intervention to prevent delays.
• Attend and assist at daily whiteboard meetings.
• Continual inspection of works on site, raising and resolving issues to ensure quality; manage subcontractors and suppliers.
• Complete daily allocation sheets for site labour and materials.
• Manage civil engineering and groundworks contractor.
• Set up and maintain logistics walkways, including vehicle and pedestrian routes.
• Oversee works from foundations to finishes including paving, boundary walls and landscaping.
• Coordinate movement of labour, machinery, and materials on/off site using site software.
• Maintain a safe site through Health & Safety practices.
• Coordinate subcontractors and service providers for timely handover to Finishing Foreman.
• Liaise with engineering team to ensure waste management records are accurate.
• Advocate Cairn brand and deliver best-in-class customer service.

We are actively recruiting a General Foreperson for our Glenamuck Site. This is a key role to set and maintain consistent standards around our operations.

Key responsibilities

Typically, the candidate will be expected to undertake and assist with the following duties:

• Ownership of the management of Health and Safety on the project.
• Understand target delivery programme, weekly reporting of same and active intervention to prevent delays.
• Attend and assist at daily whiteboard meetings.
• Continuous inspection of works on site, raising and resolving issues in a timely manner to ensure quality of works. Subcontractor and Supplier Management
• Completion of daily allocation sheets for site labour and materials.
• Management of civil engineering and groundworks contractor.
• Set up and maintain logistics walkways, including vehicle & pedestrian routes.
• Take control of works from house foundations, through to 1st & 2nd fix including external finishes, paving, boundary walls and landscaping.
• Effectively manage the movement of labour, machinery, and materials on and off site through site coordination & logistics software.
• Maintain a secure and safe site through effective Health & Safety practises.
• Management and coordination of subcontractors and service providers, to ensure timely handover to Finishing Foreman in line with programme requirements.
• Liaise with the engineering team to ensure waste management records are available and accurate.
• Instil a best-in-class customer service and experience for all stakeholders and be a strong advocate for the Cairn brand.

The Candidate:

• Trade, logistics, or lifting operation background preferable.
• An ability to achieve demanding deadline and quality targets.
• To have good spoken and written communication skills.
• To be methodical, pay attention to detail and be accurate.
• To be good at working with people at all levels and willing to work in a team.
• To be self-motivated with ability to work on own initiative.
• To be able to co-ordinate several different tasks at the same time.
• To be willing to accept responsibility for completing designated tasks.
• Certification as an appointed person/lifting supervisor beneficial but not essential (training will be provided).
• Familiarity with relevant safety regulations.
