Job summary

NexVentur group is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join the delivery of a new SuperValu supermarket and retail development in Tullamore, Ireland. You will work closely with the Site Manager and subcontractors to ensure construction activities meet project specifications, quality, and programme requirements.

The role focuses on setting out, surveying, and coordinating activities across groundworks, drainage, utilities and external works with a strong emphasis on health and safety and

Qualifications

• Degree or relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or a related discipline.
• Previous site engineering experience on commercial, retail or large-scale construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of setting out, surveying and interpreting construction drawings.
• Experience using total stations, GPS equipment and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of groundworks, drainage, concrete works and external infrastructure.
• Understanding of quality assurance procedures and Irish construction health and safety requirements.
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Valid Safe Pass and relevant construction safety certifications.

Responsibilities

• Carry out setting out and surveying works in accordance with construction drawings and specifications.
• Ensure construction activities meet the required technical and quality standards.
• Coordinate subcontractors and monitor progress against the construction programme.
• Review construction drawings and technical documentation, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
• Oversee groundworks, foundations, drainage, utilities, concrete works and external infrastructure.
• Conduct site inspections and maintain accurate site records and as-built drawings.
• Maintain quality assurance documentation, inspection records and test plans.
• Liaise with the Site Manager, design team, subcontractors and project stakeholders to resolve technical queries.
• Monitor levels, dimensions, materials and workmanship to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Ensure health and safety procedures are followed across all site activities.
• Assist with short-term planning, progress reporting and daily site coordination.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join the delivery of a new SuperValu supermarket and retail development in Tullamore, County Offaly.

The project involves a new neighbourhood retail complex comprising a supermarket, café, pharmacy, additional retail units, car parking, access roads, drainage, utilities, footpaths and associated external works.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Site Engineer with experience in commercial or retail construction to play a key role in delivering the project. You will work closely with the Site Manager, subcontractors and the wider project team to ensure construction activities are completed safely, accurately and in line with project specifications and programme requirements.
