Job summary

Global Professional Consultants seeks an experienced Site Engineer for a major commercial project in Dublin City Centre. You will join a busy main contractor team, supporting delivery from setting out through to completion on a prestigious development.

The role requires strong setting out and surveying skills, reading construction drawings, and good communication within a site team. A degree in civil/ construction engineering is essential and Irish-based site experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong setting out and surveying skills.
• Excellent reading of construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out accurate setting out and surveying using GPS, Total Station and other surveying equipment.
• Assist with day-to-day engineering requirements on a busy commercial construction site.
• Set out foundations, structural elements, internal layouts and other building works.
• Interpret and work from construction drawings, specifications and technical information.
• Carry out site measurements, surveys and as-built documentation.
• Monitor works to ensure they are completed to drawings, specs and programme.
• Liaise with Site Management, subcontractors, consultants and stakeholders.
• Assist with coordination of subcontractors and multiple work fronts.
• Maintain site records, daily reports and engineering documentation.
• Assist with QA/QC inspections and ensure works meet standards.
• Support management of technical queries and resolve engineering issues on site.
• Ensure all works comply with health & safety procedures.

A leading main building contractor is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join their team on a major commercial construction project in Dublin City Centre.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Site Engineer with strong main contractor experience to join an established construction business working on a high-profile commercial development in the heart of Dublin. The successful candidate will work closely with the Site Management and Engineering teams, supporting the delivery of the project from setting out through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out accurate setting out and surveying using GPS, Total Station and other surveying equipment
• Assist with the day-to-day engineering requirements on a busy commercial construction site
• Set out foundations, structural elements, internal layouts and other building works
• Interpret and work from construction drawings, specifications and technical information
• Carry out site measurements, surveys and as-built documentation
• Monitor works to ensure they are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and programme requirements
• Liaise with Site Management, subcontractors, consultants and other project stakeholders
• Assist with the coordination of subcontractors and multiple work fronts
• Maintain accurate site records, daily reports and engineering documentation
• Assist with QA/QC inspections and ensure works meet the required standards
• Support the management of technical queries and assist in resolving engineering issues on site
• Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with company health & safety procedures

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or a related discipline
• Minimum 2 years experience as a Site Engineer
• Previous experience with a main building contractor is highly desirable
• Commercial construction experience essential
• Strong setting out and surveying skills
• Proficient in GPS and Total Station
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Good understanding of construction methodologies and building processes
• Strong communication and organisational skillsAbility to work effectively as part of a site team
• Full driving licence desirable
