Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager: Transportation to join our Dublin team. You will support the Commercial Director and work with operations and other Commercial Managers on major schemes, ensuring commercial robustness and proactive management of change, invoicing and financial reporting.

The role emphasizes commercial focus from project outset and ongoing project delivery, with hybrid work options in Dublin and surrounding offices.

Qualifications

• Preferably a degree in a business, finance, law or engineering discipline.
• A qualification in accountancy, surveying or law would be advantageous.
• Previous experience within a legal, commercial or financial role in construction/property.
• Contract experience in commercial management for large value projects (>£1 million).
• Good understanding of risk management procedures and processes.
• Commercial acumen with strong business analysis and ability to interpret complex financial reports.
• Knowledge of English commercial law and contract forms (GCCC, NEC3/4, JCT, Govt Frameworks, FIDIC).
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work across the organisation.

Responsibilities

• Provide risk and commercial advice across the project lifecycle.
• Support reporting and forecasting of commercial performance.
• Manage commercial risk and opportunities with a focus on change control.
• Ensure compliance with internal standards and external regulatory requirements.
• Apply contractual mechanisms and negotiate terms.
• Attend progress and change control meetings with clients.
• Input to Risk Register and assist financial reporting.
• Collaborate with discipline leads to identify and assess change.
• Monitor changes to the Project Programme with the Project Planner.
• Oversee internal reporting, Earned Value Management and EACs.
• Manage supply chain contracts, payment applications and invoices.
• Conduct regular programme and cost reconciliations.
