Job summary

Mastercard is seeking a Principal Technical Program Manager to lead cross-functional programs within Business & Market Insights (BMI). Qualifications

• Operate independently in ambiguous, early-stage environments.
• Proven experience managing complex technical programs across multiple teams, including vendor coordination.
• Strong expertise in agile delivery models and scrum practices.
• Track record of managing escalations, aligning stakeholders, and delivering large-scale initiatives.
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Understanding of business strategy, technology landscape, and design trade-offs.
• Experience building relationships and influencing dependent teams.
• BS in engineering, computer science, project management or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Operate with a high degree of independence to address ambiguous problem spaces and drive timely execution.
• Help establish foundational program management practices and governance for a growing engineering organization.
• Lead coordination across internal teams and external vendors to align scope, timelines, and delivery outcomes.
• Identify gaps between regions, architectures, vendors, and organizations, creating scalable patterns for cross-team collaboration.
• Manage escalations and drive resolution of complex delivery challenges affecting multiple teams or stakeholders.
• Serve as the primary contact for programs, communicating with senior leadership and translating complex information into actionable updates.
• Provide timely visibility into program status, risks, and decisions to stakeholders.
• Facilitate dialogue across teams to resolve misalignment and enable delivery.
• Oversee execution across multiple teams and domains with reporting mechanisms and improved processes.
• Support scaling of engineering squads by establishing repeatable delivery models and onboarding patterns.
• Build consensus and deliver outcomes with limited guidance in a fast-evolving environment.
